I am truly honored to have one of my paintings (pictured below) chosen for the finals toward the Hunting Prize 2010. Last year Kim Cadmus Owens and David Dreyer were a couple of the Dallas finalists. What wonderful company to be among..jpg)

Karen Weiner's blog, with lists, links and images. Great collection of finds.
My uncle and employer since 1998, David H. Gibson offered a print for part of Christmas present this year. I chose one from his, in my humble opinion, under-appreciated David McManaway's Studio series. I am really excited to see it framed and on the wall of my loft. I have only had the opportunity to visit David McManaway's studio a hand full of times, but it was always quite an amazing thing to experience the collection in person.
I can't remember where I ran across Kristen Everberg's work originally, but I love limited palette, subject matter and style. She has worked with images of the case study homes and other historic images. The painting below was taken from Andrei Tarkovski's film Ivan's Childhood. It is a still in a montage of what appears to be stock footage of abandoned and ruined spaces toward the end of the movie. My personal favorite of Tarkovski's work is Andrei Rublev. That movie haunts me.
